THE SPECIAL DELIVERY BAND
The Special Delivery Band is a 5 piece group of seasoned musicians representing decades of band experience. We are based in Northwest Connecticut and our lineup includes drums, guitar, bass, synth and vocals. All members handle lead vocals and tight three-part harmonies are typical.We play popular classic rock dance tunes our audiences know and love. Whether you like to get down and dance, or you just like to sing along to your favorites, we've got you covered. Search through our demos to get a good idea of the music we perform.
Dawn - Lead Vocals
Dawn was dancing before she could walk and she was singing by the age of three. She joined the Junior Choir at 12 and the Senior Choir at 14. She has been a student of opera for many years and continues her classical training to this day. She is a coloratura soprano but is blessed with an extended vocal range that allows her to sing many styles of music. She has always felt that she was destined to become either an operatic diva, or a rock and roll singer. She currently sings with South Road as well as with the Special Delivery band.
Chip - Guitar and Vocals
Chip has been singing and playing in bands since the mid 70s. He loves harmonies and the friendships enjoyed over the years playing with The Falls Brook Band, Fourth Time Around, Fun Factor and Special Delivery.
Lisa - Drums and Vocals
Lisa has been hitting things rhythmically since age 9. A full time stint in the London music business put her off a career in music but fortunately didn't dampen her love of drumming. She likes to spend her days playing banjo or wandering in the woods, singing softly and contemplating just what the heck happened to Amelia Earhart.
Ralph - Bass and Vocals
Ralph started playing bass in 1967. In Michigan, he played with OPUS SIX and NATURAL GAS before returning to Connecticut. A long time resident of New Hartford, Ralph has played with WGAF, Pollinators, Notables, Ragtops and Fun Factor before joining Special Delivery.
Jan - Synth and Vocals
Jan's love of singing began with the youth choir at her childhood church. As an adult, she has studied voice at the Warner Theater and took two years of instruction in Italian opera at the Hartt School of Music. She has previously performed with The Ragtops and the Fun Factor band. She is excited to be singing with Special Delivery.
